# GPU Pulse > A daily, evidence-linked view of GPU purchase prices, Overall and category-specific cloud-rental estimates, and the number of rental hours equivalent to buying a GPU. GPU Pulse was created by [Aaron Ring](https://github.com/cytokineking) and is published under The Compute Desk. It is the historical market companion to [GPU Rent or Buy?](https://www.gpu-rent-or-buy.com/), the interactive calculator for applying current GPU prices to a specific workload and ownership decision. Contact: [info@gpu-pulse.com](mailto:info@gpu-pulse.com) ## Main pages - [Today](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/): Latest daily market edition, featured GPU trends, movers, market map, and complete board. - [GPU directory](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/gpus): All tracked GPUs with sortable purchase, rental, memory, generation, and rental-equivalent-hour data. - [Compare GPUs](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/compare): Compare historical purchase prices, rental rates, or rental-equivalent hours across selected models. - [Snapshot archive](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/snapshots): Calendar of dated market editions, with retrospective editions labeled. - [RSS feed](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/rss.xml): The latest dated market editions. - [Methodology](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/methodology): How observations, conditions, rental tiers, rankings, gaps, and corrections are handled. - [Dataset use terms](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/data-use): Rights and permissions for GPU Pulse dataset pages, API output, and derived benchmark publications. - [Privacy policy](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/privacy): Hosting, email, font-hosting, affiliate-link, and advertising disclosures and visitor choices. - [Affiliate disclosure](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/affiliate-disclosure): Commercial-link disclosure and editorial-independence policy. - [GPU Rent or Buy?](https://www.gpu-rent-or-buy.com/): Interactive rent-versus-buy calculator using the companion research dataset. ## Public JSON API - [API index](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1): Versioned endpoint directory. - [Health and latest publication](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1/health): Availability and latest observed publication, projection version, and edition identity; the modeled-release endpoint identifies the current modeled release. - [Current modeled release](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1/modeled-release): Current sealed release identity and links to supported modeled data. - [Latest editorial edition](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1/edition): Current fact-linked headline, featured GPU, number of the day, and explanatory copy. - [Published snapshots](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1/snapshots): Dated observed-publication manifest. - [GPU catalog](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1/gpus): Tracked GPU identities and hardware metadata. - [Latest overview](https://www.gpu-pulse.com/api/v1/overview): Latest observed market board values and changes, separate from the current modeled estimates. Start with the modeled-release manifest and its artifact links for the current modeled prices. Model histories, dated snapshots, dated editions, movers, and comparisons are also available under `/api/v1`; several of those endpoints describe observed publications rather than the current modeled release. Check the API index, source type, date, and release identity instead of assuming every endpoint shares the same latest date. ## Interpretation - Purchase values are modeled estimates informed by observed and historical market prices, not appraisals, merchant offers, or guaranteed transaction prices. Solid history shows standard estimates; dashed lines show less certain approximate history, and dotted lines show estimated ranges. - Purchase conditions remain separate: new and secondary (used / refurbished). Complete systems are labeled with their included GPU count; comparable values use the same number of GPUs. - Overall estimates typical on-demand rental prices across the market while accounting for differences between providers and services. Community marketplace, Managed GPU cloud, and Large cloud provider category views are also available. Some dates are observed; others are estimated between observations or shortly after an update. Single-provider quoted references are labeled and excluded from whole-market trends. - Rental-equivalent hours are purchase price divided by rental price per GPU-hour. Fewer hours favor buying relative to renting; more hours favor renting. - Missing support remains missing. Charts do not turn gaps into zero. Historical estimates may be revised when later information arrives. - Dated snapshot pages keep the editorial copy and market board from the same edition. Retrospective editions describe a historical date using a later-published modeled release and are labeled; check the publication date and release identity. - Commercial links do not affect observations, rankings, featured models, or editorial conclusions. GPU Pulse is research and market context, not financial advice, a quote, or a guarantee of availability.
